Massive Mania
Our plan was to hike Mt. Massive's ridge north to south.... the 'Massive Mania' route in Roach's 'Colorado's Fourteeners' book. The night before our hike we slept in our vehicles near the standard Mt. Massive TH. In the morning we left one car at the Mt. Massive TH and drove to the Windsor Lake TH where our day started. Our route covered 14.8 miles, 5,300ft of elevation gain, 6,000ft of elevation loss and took roughly 10.5 hours. The route covered PT 14,169, North Massive, Massive Green, Mount Massive, South Massive and a handful of other spots over 14,000ft.
